About North West Sussex Seagulls

North West Sussex Seagulls is an independent Brighton & Hove Albion supporters club that was formed in July 2011 by its founder Andy Stonestreet. It has grown to become one of the largest Brighton & Hove Albion supporters groups in the country. Its main objective is to transport fans safely and quickly to Albion home matches at the Amex stadium in Falmer at an affordable cost. NWSS is run and managed by a committee of unpaid volunteers who organise match day transport working in partnership with established travel partner Sussex Coaches.

The American Express Stadium has proved to be a big draw with Premier League home matches regularly selling out. There is a very healthy allocation of season ticket holders, many of whom live in the north west Sussex district. With the Amex stadium having a capacity of over 30,000 there is a heavy demand for coach seats from fans living in the local area. NWSS currently deploys four coaches across different routes in the county and carries Albion fans to every home match. Limited seats are available for coach season ticket holders only and their guests with concession prices available for those aged under 18. NWSS is a non-profit making organisation and as a consequence is able to offer competitively priced low cost transport to the Amex on a match day.

Albion adopted a strong green policy when they applied for planning permission to build their new stadium and have been encouraging as many fans as possible to get to and from the Amex by using environmentally sustainable public transport such as buses, coaches and trains rather than polluting and clogging up Sussex roads with lots of cars. NWSS regularly transports over 200 Albion fans to every Albion home match at the Amex from as far afield as Horsham, Roffey, Broadbridge Heath, Southwater, Slinfold, Lower Beeding, Cowfold, Wisborough Green, Billingshurst, Partridge Green and Henfield.

Since its formation in 2011 NWSS has donated over £50,000 to different local charities, organisations and various sports clubs for young people. It has offered help and financial support to many good causes including the following:

  • Albion in the Community Powerchair football team

The club holds meetings, forums and events for its members where the Albion chairman, board members, players and staff have often been in attendance as guest speakers for Q&A sessions. Club visits and events have included a trip to the Piglets Pantry pie factory where the delicious Amex pies are made, brewery tours, skittles evenings, Christmas dinner parties and a summer barbecue. NWSS offers much more than just transport to and from the Amex Stadium, membership is free so why not come along to one of our club meetings to find out more about NWSS and its members.
